Inez died at the age of 104 years in Portsmouth, Virginia on 27 July 2014 and was laid to rest in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Portsmouth, Virginia on 30 July 2014.

Portsmouth - Inez David Copeland passed away at her home in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 27, 2014. She was born in Youngsville, Louisiana on December 21, 1912 to the late Joseph and Elize Dugas David.

She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 at the start of World War II. She served in the Navy Nurse Corps on board the USS Relief in the Atlantic and on the USS Sanctuary in the Pacific during the 1945 evacuation of Okinawa. She left the service in 1947 as a Lieutenant Commander.

She is survived by daughters Mary Elliot David and Theresa Copeland Wilder; son-in-law Kenneth Wilder; grandchildren Holly Jo Wilder and David Angelo Wilder; nephews Robert Ashby David and Joel Shane David; and nieces Tanya David Mensman and Jennifer Jay David.

She is predeceased by her husband of 27 years Thomas Elliot Copeland; brothers Julian Joseph David and Ludovic Antoine David; and sister Naomi Theresa Vincent.

With deep gratitude and appreciation, the family offers sincere thanks to Evelyn Blick and Jamie Smith for their compassionate care and for the dignity and respect with which it was administered.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, July 30, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 3158 Holly Cliff Lane, Portsmouth, Virginia immediately following the service

Youngsville - Mrs. Vincent, passed away on 21 January 2008 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Mrs. Noamie Nannie Vincent was a life-long resident of Youngsville, LA. She was born on 09 July 1919 in St. Martinsville, LA.

A loving wife, mother and aunt, Mrs. Vincent was a graduate of Youngsville High School, where she went on to attend Spencer Business College for secretarial training. She worked as a secretary for Youngsville High School for over twenty years before retiring. Mrs. Vincent was also a former member of he Ladies Altar Society as well as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her brother, Ludovic A. David of Lafayette, LA; her sister, Inez D. Copeland of Portsmouth, VA; her nephews Robert A. David and J. Shane David; her nieces, Mary E. David, Therese D. Wilder, Tanya D. Mensman and Jennifer J. David; and Susan W. Greco. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter; Deborah Ann Vincent; her parents, Joseph and Elize David; her husband, Preston J. Vincent and her brother, Julien J. David.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Preston Vincent, the former Therese Noamie David, 88, will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church of 201 Church Street, Youngsville, LA at 1:30PM, 24 January 2008 with Fr. Vu officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday January 23, 2008 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday January 24, 2008 from 9:00AM until service time. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be family and friends.

4. Ludovic Anthony David, a son born in Saint Martinville, Louisiana on 28 January 1927. He married Grace Ellen Milberger at ____________ in Inez, Texas on 12 September 1953 .

Ludovic Anthony died at a local hospital on 23 March 2011 and was laid to rest on 23 March 2011 at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. A native of Youngsville and resident of Lafayette, Ludovic Anthony David passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at a local hospital. He was born on January 28, 1927 in Youngsville, LA to Joseph and Elize Dugas David. L.A. was a decorated U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and the Korean War, having served aboard the USS Savo Island.

He went on to attend San Marcus College where he met his wife, Grace Ellen Milberger. They were married in Victoria, Texas, and returned to Youngsville, LA, where he later completed his Bachelor of Education and Arts Degree at University of Louisiana at Lafayette (formerly SLI). After over 32 years with the Lafayette Parish School system, he retired as a teacher. He was a loving, kindhearted father, and devoted, caring husband, who was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He was dearly loved and will truly be missed by his family. He is survived by his sister, Inez Copeland of Portsmouth, VA; his three children, J. Shane David of Fairfax, VA, Tanya K. Mensman and Jennifer J. David, both of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren, Jessica A. Dolan, Erin K. Dolan, Christina I. David, Colin M. David and Lucas A. David; one great-grandchild, Grace K. Sewall; nephews, Robert A. David and Keith David of Houston, TX; and nieces, Mary E. David and Theresa D. Wilder of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Milberger David; infant daughter, Yvette S. David; his sister, Naomi T. Vincent; his brother, Julian J. David; and his parents. Pallbearers will be friends and family. The family would like to personally thank the 9th floor staff at Louisiana Extended Care of LGMC and his physician, Dr. Jody Rosson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Ludovic Anthony David (also known as L.A. or Brother ), 84, will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, March 28, 2011 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Jason Mouton officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00PM and will resume on Monday from 9:00AM until service time. Following the service, burial will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park. David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Highway, (337) 837-9887, is in charge of all arrangements.
